I know - it can't be true but I have just about figured out how to use my Garmin. I have never been technically inclined - and my favorite story to tell is that I arrived at Microsoft unable to type. I of course quickly learned -- and within a few weeks I was a typing whiz. Typing, however, is not technical, it's just physical. A Garmin, on the other hand, takes a bit of geting used to. Why might you ask that I this new fancy device? Well it's for my bike - (not my car but I would certainly love to have one there too) - and it's for my new personal and virtual cycling coach. He needed to understand my fitness from a far.
A few months ago, my dilemma was - Pilates class or cycling coach? That was the question? If I am not buying clothes and trying to be frugal, and trying to at the time stay fit and 29 (exercise is the way), then why not take a portion and invest into a healthy body and healthy mind. I should also add to the fact that I have signed up for a bizillion charity cycling events in which I need to raise large chunks of money and get through some supposed challenging courses.
Today was the field test - and I saw nothing more than 172. A good data point I think - but I can't be sure. More to come.
